Dear David, you were my Command Sergeant Major while I was the Chaplain at the 455th Field Hospital in Providence many years ago. Over the years we have worked together in VVA, DAV and at the State House. We became very close and dear friends. I miss you terribly. You are in heaven now and I look forward to honoring you, your family and your military service at Saint Ambrose on Thursday. May you rest in God's eternal peace. With love and respect, I salute you! Fr. Phil

It was indeed an honor to have served with CSM Dave. He was the CSM at the 351st and 804th while serving next to him. A great soldier and person as I knew this man.

David was my CSM when I commanded the 455th. He always provided wise counsel and was invaluable to the success of the unit. He was also a close friend.

He was an outstanding soldier and his list of assignments and medals attest to his career.

RIP David. Your 42 years of service made the world a better place and you are missed by the soldiers With whom you served.
