"Bebete" 95, passed May 9th at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria S, Goncalves. They have been married for 67 years.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde son of the late Manuel and Bela (Andrade) Goncalves.
Alberto had been employed by New England Papertube for many years.
Besides his wife he is survived by his twelve children, Humberto, Luisa, Jose, Autilio, Rosaria, Bela, Eugenia, Madalena, Jay, Alberto, Adelina and Auxilia Goncalves, a sister, Adelinda Goncalves, 54 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joao, Luiz, Jose, Maria Bela, and Adriel Goncalves.
He was a fisherman and enjoyed the lighter side of life.
Funeral service will be held Monday at noon in the Mount Hope Community Baptist Church, 734 Hope St, Providence, RI. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday at the church from 4 to 8pm.
