(Ventresca-Major), 74, passed on August 12th.
Born in Augusta, Maine on 11-16-39 to Eva 'Pearl' (Morin) Ventresca
and George Ventresca Sr. (both now deceased) and had a wonderful
relationship with her stepfather, James E. Major of Lincoln, RI.
Barbara moved from Maine to Lincoln, RI in her early teen years.
She enjoyed Saturday night roller skating, winter ice skating, spinning
records...especially Elvis Presley, country music and summer beach days with her daughters.
Barbara worked at Coats Field department store and School House Candy in Pawtucket, RI.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna L. Tschuta and Diane M. Fuller, four grandchildren, Corey T. Tschuta Sr., Brandon Campbell, Ryan and Lauren Fuller and three great grandchildren.
Three brothers, James Major Jr of Woonsocket, Allan N. Major of North Port, FL, George Ventresca of Cumberland, Maine and two sisters, Cheryl Bolduc of Maine and Sandie Solomine of Florida.
Barbara was an energetic and strong-willed woman who loved watching the birds and was very generous in her chosen charities, St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital and Jerry's kids with Muscular Dystrophy.
The one thing that lit her heart and gave her the most joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In her final days, Barbara spoke of "going home", she was told the angels would come for her when she was ready, she smiled gently and said, "let's go, get my shoes."
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8pm. For online condolences visit www.thekeefefuneralhome.com.
