81, passed on January 16t. he was the longtime companion of Jovita Soares, Born in Brava, Cape Verde, a son of the late Manuel and Isabel (Gomes) Goncalves. He was a lifelong merchant marine.
Besides his companion he is survived by a son, Marcus Goncalves, three grandchildren, Matthew, Judith and Jasmine Goncalves, daughter in law, Mirlene Goncalves and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lidia G. Silva, Pedro, Ana and Antonio Goncalves and Maria Goncalves Coelho.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 9am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edward Church, Weeden St, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8pm.
