84, of Mendon Rd, passed peacefully December 8th at home. She was the wife of Lionel Remy; they had been married for 61 years.

Born in Lincoln she was the daughter of the late Frank P. Cullen and granddaughter of Mary Gibeault. Irene lived most of her life in Central Falls.

She had been employed by the former Paramount Cards for 29 years. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Matthew Parish, now called Holy Spirit Parish; a former member of the Golden Agers, the Women's Club and also had served as a Girl Scout leader.

Besides her husband she is survived by several cousins including Sr. Ann Gibeault, SSJ.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew Church, Dexter St, Central Falls at 9:30am. Relatives and are friends invited. Calling hours Friday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Holy Spirit Parish, 1030 Dexter St. Central Falls, RI 02863 or to Camp Ker-Anna, 500 Reservoir Rd, Cumberland RI 02864.
