91, died peacefully February 20, 2015 at the home of her daughter Jacqueline Z. Washington of Providence.

She was born in Hopewell, Virginia, to the late Mermon and Richetta Jones. She was predeceased in death by her beloved companion Robert L. Culbreath. She leaves one sister, Gladys Whitehead of Pawtucket, RI. She was predeceased in death by sisters Mary Monger, Eleanor Booker and her brother Lloyd Jones.

Mrs. Washington was the loving mother of Deloris M. Speaks, Baltimore, MD, Maurine Addison and Judith A. Covington, Warwick, Rhode Island, Johanne P. Washington (Renee) and Jacqueline Z. Washington, Providence, Rhode Island, Linda M. Washington, Brockton, MA. and Doris L. Summerour (deceased). She also leaves to mourn her passing 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her dedicated friend, Blanche McCall and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Washington was a resident of Providence for over 60 years and was a dietician for the Mount Hope Day Care Center for 18 years from where she retired. Mrs. Washington was an active member of the Mount Hope Senior Center until her illness. Mrs. Washington professed her love for Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Church of God in Virginia. We loved her but GOD loved her more.

Calling hours will be Friday February 27th from 4pm until 7 pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, (off Smithfield Ave) and funeral service Saturday February 28th at 11am at the Mount Hope Community Baptist Church, 734 Hope St, Providence. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence, RI.
