100, of Lincoln died April 17,2015. Wife of Richard K. Crompton of Smithfield where she lived before moving back to Lincoln. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Ada (Oldfield) Lawton.
Bertha was an active member of Lime Rock Baptist Church for 95 years serving as deacon, honary deacon, Sunday School Superintendent , choir member for 72 years, Penetralia Guild, The Lime Rochers and Church Historian. Bertha retired from Rhode Island School of Design as payroll Supervisor. She was a member of the former Lime Rock Grange.
She leaves 2 daughters Karolyn Simpson of Eustis, Fl and Muriel Andreoni of Lincoln, 7 grandchildren, 11 great and 5 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was precided in death by her sister, Ruth Lund and 2 Brothers, Henry and A. Forrest Lawton.
Her greatest joys in life were her family, gardening and her church. Donations mey be made to Lime Rock Baptist Church. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
