89, loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather and son, died at home on May 29, 2015. Ray was born on May 9, 1926 in Pawtucket, RI, youngest of the eleven children of Arthur and Marie McAlinden McConaghy. After graduating as president of the senior class and captain of the swim team at Pawtucket West High School, Ray enlisted in the Navy to serve in the Pacific in World War II. He married Eileen Blanche Brodeur on June 30, 1951 and together they raised six children. Ray retired after thirty-three years with New England Telephone Company. He was actively involved in church activities and was one of the founders of Woodlawn Catholic Regional School in Pawtucket, RI.

Ray is survived by Eileen, his wife of 64 years, and six children: Maureen and her husband Robert Thunell of Columbia, SC; Raymond and his wife Marilyn of Pawtucket, RI; Cathleen of Utica, NY; William of Los Alamos, NM; Eileen and her husband Frank Repholz of Thornhurst, PA; and Colleen and her husband Jeffrey Hanna of Rumford, RI. He was also the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Matthew, Thomas and Daniel Thunell, Bridget McConaghy, Michael and Cathleen Repholz, and Margaret and Mary Hanna. His last surviving sibling is his sister, Ann McConaghy.

His funeral will be held Monday, June 1st at 8:15am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude Church, Front St, Lincoln at 9:30 AM. Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4pm. Memorial contributions in honor of Ray may be made to Woodlawn Catholic Regional School or the St. Jude Church Restoration Fund.
