68 of Slatersville, RI passed away peacefully on June 7, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Joann H. (Balkcom) Ringuette, married 28 wonderful years.
Born in Providence, RI he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Jeannette B. (Fortier) Ringuette.
Don was a United States Army Veteran serving six years. He also served as a military policeman at West Point Military Academy, West Point, NY.
Don was an auto mechanic and owned Mobil Service Stations in Barrington, Johnston, RI and Seekonk, MA. He semi-retired in 2008 and was later employed at J.A.R. Bakers' Supply, Inc. in Lincoln, RI. Don was an avid fan of NASCAR racing and for many years would travel to Florida to see the Daytona 500. Don was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was the kindest, most generous person to everyone who knew him. He will be missed by many. Besides his wife he will be missed by his loving children, a son, Donald A. Ringuette, Jr. and his husband, John E. Turner of New York City, two step daughters, Sara L. McMahon of Pawtucket, RI and Julie C. McMahon of Slatersville, RI. He was the brother of Robert E. Ringuette of Mattapoisett, MA and Davie, FL and Lorraine M. Hughes and her husband Eric M. "Mike" of Attleboro, MA and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alfred J. Ringuette, Jr. and Jeannette A. Russell.
A funeral service with military honors will be held Thursday, June 11th at 10am in the Historic Chapel of Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, RI.
Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to RISPCA, 186 Amaral St. Riverside, RI 02915 would be appreciated
