52, passed away on September 27th at RI Hospital from injuries sustained on September 4th in a truck accident in CT. He was the husband of Deborah Martins. John was owner and founder of Sterry St. Towing, East Coast Collision Center and Courtesy Auto Group. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Manuel and Norberta C. Martins. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jamie and his wife Jillian, Jonathan Turmel, and a daughter Alison Martins, and his two favorite dogs, Royce and Bentley, two brothers, Jose Martins and his wife Maria, Jimmy Martins Sr. and his wife Dawn, four sisters, Olivia Martins, Luci Collins and her husband Armand, Maria Gloria Nyzio and her husband Stephen, Anna Martins and her fiance Amancio Carvalho, four grandchildren, Jonathan Turmel Jr., Jessica Turmel, Riley Turmel and Jamie Turmel Jr. and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Friday, October 2nd at 8:45am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Pine St, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to St. Mary's Church, 103 Pine St, Pawtucket, RI 02860 in memory of John Martins. The family would like to thank the following Good Samaritans for their bravery and courage they exhibited on the day of the accident; Craig Johnson of New London, Leticia Orozco of East Lyme, Gerard Richardson of New Jersey, Sherry Balcher of Westbrook, Matthew Easton of New Jersey, Jamie Thomas of Colorado, and Abernathy Brown of New Jersey.
