70, passed away at her home in Lincoln RI, on Tuesday, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius J Quinn and Margaret R. (Salisbury) Quinn, she was also the sister of the late Karen Quinn of Lincoln, RI, her boyfriend of 18 years the late Richard Leach of Barrington, RI
Martha worked at Health-Tex as an Office Manager, then worked as home care giver, she was a youth group advisor, and on the board of directors for Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church in Pawtucket until she retired, though she continued to be a home care giver to family and friends as this was her true calling. Her loving heart and caring ways made her a natural at this job. She was a one of a kind woman, she was a woman to be admired, she gave with her whole heart and more. As seen in all who knew her, or came into contact with her. She drew people to her like moths to a flame with her vibrant personality. This is shown with her large extended family, the one she was born into and the ones that choose her as family. Anyone who knew her would tell you that you always knew you were loved, she could crack a joke to make you smile when all you wanted to do was cry, was always there when you needed her no matter what the time. She was a great partner in crime for all manner fun, from snow angels in the back yard, to mystery rides were you could end up anywhere having a great time. Water balloon fights with her daughter and her friend, sled rides, Ice cream for dinner because a banana split had all the food groups and it was hot out. Her Faith in God unshakeable, thought she left us far sooner than we wished, she would say God gave me tasks to do in this life I've completed them and he has called me home. For all who love her our world is shattered, by losing our bright shining light in our life.
She is survived by her daughter, Tori A. Burrill, her son-in-law, Daniel B. Burrill, her ex-husband and best friend Ronald LaPorte, of Cumberland, her sister Marilyn and brother in law Bob Reeves of Connecticut, Sister Irma Remington of Florida, and her large extended family.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 17th at 10am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Monday from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Breast Cancer Society.
