of Providence, Rhode Island passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, January 29th, 2016. She was 100 years old, one day shy of her 101st birthday.
Ma Thao was born on January 30th, 1915 in Xieng Khouang, Laos to Mr. Tong Chai Thao and Mrs. Youa Xiong. She was the wife of the late Boua Xiong Ly. They had 7 children- Boua Chue Chao Ly of Santa Ana, California, May Lee Xiong of White Bear, Minnesota, Leng Ly of Providence, RI, John Teng Lee of St. Paul, Minnesota, Neng Lee of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ia Xiong of Cranston, RI, and the late Nhia Ma Lee. She is survived by four generations. She was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Ma Thao's funeral services on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 and Sunday, February 14th, 2016 from 10am-10pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI 02865. Mass Service will be held on Monday, February 15th, 2016 at 11:00am at Holy Spirit Parish, Central Falls, RI. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland, RI.
