age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12th at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late Leo L. Costa and the daughter of the late Felix and Odina Stebenne. She was also the sister of the late Florette Campbell and the late Jeanette Schiebe.
Gerry, as she was known to her friends and family, was very active in her community. She was a past president of the Notre Dame Women's Club and was a past Vice President of the Madames of Sacred Heart for many years. Gerry loved to sing and was a member of the church choir. She also founded the Notre Dame Bowling Club and was an avid bowler. Gerry worked for 30 years at St. Vincent de Paul in Central Falls where she met and made many good friends.
Gerry loved life and didn't want to miss anything. A world traveler, Gerry's favorite spots included China, Hawaii, Paris, The Canary Islands, Canada, and Germany. Gerry also loved to play cards, her favorite game being Contract Rummy, which she always enticed family and friends to play.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Lawrence Costa and his wife Denise Costa (Cumberland), Gerald Costa and his wife Lori Costa (Austin, TX), Paulette (Costa) Corey and her husband Arthur Corey (East Providence), and Linda (Costa) Morrison and her husband John Morrison (Loris, SC). She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Marissa Carlson and her husband Danny Carlson (Cumberland), Keri Costa (Austin, TX), Jeremy Costa (New York, NY), Katherine Corey and her husband Christopher Wilson (East Providence), Michael Corey and his wife Chelsea Corey (East Providence, and Sophia Carlson and Ava Carlson (Cumberland).
Her funeral will be held Friday, April 15th at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St, Central Falls at 9:30am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904.
