83, passed Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010. He was the husband of the late Pauline A. (Miranda) Thimas.

Born in South Carver, MA, a son of the late Jaquim and Leoniza (Mendez) Thimas.
He had been employed by the US Postal Service for over 26 years before retiring.
Tim was a lifelong Providence resident, a WWII Navy Veteran, a member of the Lts. Armstrong-Gladding Post #69 American Legion and past member and Treasurer of the 5-0 Club Cape Verdean Progressive Center.

He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Thimas of Providence, a son, Michael Thimas and his wife Millie, of Riverside, five grandchildren, Allen, Linda, Pauline, Nathan and Mackenzie Thimas, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Henry, Manuel and Domingo Thimas and Ezaura Perry.

His funeral will be held Monday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, off Smithfield Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, 239 Oxford St, Providence at 10am. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Sunday from 4-7pm.
