80, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Miriam Hospital, Providence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel C. Furtado.
Born in Pedreira, Nordeste, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel F. Vigário and Maria Augusta Carreiro.
Noemia came to the United States in 1967.
Noemia was employed for many years at International Packaging of Pawtucket before retiring.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Pawtucket, R.I. and a member of Irmandade do Divino Espirito Santo of St. Anthony's Church.
Noemia is survived by three sons, Jaime C. Furtado and wife Lillian of Cumberland, Edward C. Furtado and wife Maria and Manuel C. Furtado and wife Gina of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Cody, Amanda, Taylor, Noah and Jordan Furtado; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Manuel F. Carreiro, Maria do Rosario Barbosa, Genoveva C. Rego.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. Her life will be celebrated with calling hours on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
