78, lifetime resident of Cumberland, RI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 1st, 2016 in Providence, R.I.
He spent over 56 years with the love of his life, wife, Yvonne (Gagnon) Hemond. He was the proud father of his cherished children, Lucille Bagaglia of Pawtucket, Christine Naughton of Lincoln, Richard A. Hemond Jr. of Wrentham, MA, Karen Everton and the late Suzanne Turcotte of Cumberland, and beloved Pepere to Amy and Eric Turcotte, Paul Everton II, Emma and Ean Naughton and great grandfather of Zachary Turcotte.
Born the son of the late Wilfred and Germaine (Lavallee) Hemond, of Cumberland. He was a brother to Theresa Corio, Diane Dupre and the late Rene and Robert Hemond of Cumberland, Maureen Blain of Central Falls, and Cecile Bryan of Florida.
He worked in carpentry, construction and rigging during his working years. In his younger years, he assisted in the building the original St. Adian's Church in Cumberland, with his father and brothers.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 7th at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., from 1 to 4pm followed by a service at 4pm. Friends and relatives are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Phillip Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904. http://www.hopehospiceri.org/.
