78, passed on September 22nd with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Maria J. (Ferreira) Almeida. They have been married for 58 wonderful years.
Born in Mangualde Portugal, he was the son of the late Octavio and Encarnacao Almeida.
Joaquim was a tailor in Portugal, he then emigrated to the United States in 1969 and was employed by American Insulated Wire of Pawtucket for over 20 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Teresa Ribeiro, her husband Antonio, a son Antonio Almeida, his wife Anabela, three grandchildren, Michael Ribeiro, his wife Tracy, and Richard Ribeiro his wife Dali, and his princess, Kiona Almeida, two sisters, Alzira and Lucilia both of Portugal, four great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Jose Almeida.
His funeral will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 8:15am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8pm.
