56, Riverside, R.I. went to be with the Lord at his home at the on Thursday, September 29, 2016.
Danny was born November 6, 1959 in Bristol VA, to Daniel O. Sr. and Rosetta McCall. After moving to Akron Ohio, he attended Central-Hower High School until the end of his junior year and later graduated from Hope High School's in Providence R.I. class of 1978. After graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. Danny loved being with family and in 2013 he relocated to Washington, Pa where he resided until illness set in in late October 2015 and he came back to R.I. to be with his mom and dad. Daniel loved his children and grandchildren, attending little league football & baseball games with them. Danny ministered to so many young men and women, trying to show them better alternatives than the ones they were choosing. His smile and laughter will be forever missed by all who came in contact with him. He was also an avid Oakland Raiders and New York Nicks fan.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, Daniel O. Sr., and Rosetta McCall, E. Providence, R.I., two sons, Eric and Joshua Populus, two daughters, Amanda and Felicia Populus, one granddaughter, Nadia Andrews, Cranston R.I., two grandsons, Maddox and Martin Populus of Pawtucket, R.I. God daughter, LaVianna Davis of Zhangdian, Jiangsu, China, Two sisters, Denise McCall of Atlanta Georgia, Dr. Renee McCall of Dumfries, VA, One aunt, Reverend Loretta (Rev. Layman) Davis, Marianna, Pa, One uncle, David (Louann) Bradley, Cranston, R.I. and one great aunt, Blanch McCall of Providence, R.I. He also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memories.
Danny was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul & Lily Bradley, Paternal grandparents, Esther and Bill Edmonds, two uncles, Charles & Stanley Bradley and one brother, Everett Theodore McCall (Teddy).
The Family of Daniel O McCall Jr., would like to thank everyone for the cards, flowers, prayers and kind expressions of sympathy you have shown, it is deeply appreciated and will always be remembered by our family
Friends will be received Thursday, October 6, 2016 10:00 until time of service at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 30 Rochambeau Ave. Providence, R.I. Pastor Howard Jenkins, Officiating.
