Born in Tazewell, Virginia, he was the son of the late Bill Smith Sr and Betty (Patton) Smith. He served in the US Army. Besides his wife, he is survived by his granddaughter, Brianna Patton, his siblings, Juanita, Bill, Ronald, Tom and Juan Smith and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Timothy Patton. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 9am till 10:30am followed by a service and Military Honors at 10:30am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
