85, passed at home on November 11, 2016. She was the wife of the late Anthony S. Savastano.
Born in Attleboro, MA, Janet was the daughter of the late Joseph and Monica (Mulligan) Walsh. She had been employed by the City of Central Falls, in the guidance office, at the Junior/Senior High School for twenty years, retiring in 1993. Active in retirement, she enjoyed traveling, bowling, line dancing, card playing, knitting, quilting and spending time with family and friends. She was proud of the 24 years of volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of Providence, RI.
She is survived by two sons, David Savastano of Washington and Robert Savastano of Narragansett, RI, a daughter, Karen Cole (ret. MSgt USAF) and her husband, Alex (ret. MSgt USAF) of Colorado, five grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren, Nathan, Emily, and Jonathan, a great-grandson, Daxton, a sister, Priscilla Petit to whom she gave special thanks for her constant love and devotion. She is the sister of the late Gladys McEndy, Margaret Megliola, and Robert Walsh.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 15th at 8:45am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude Church, Front Street, Lincoln at 10am. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4-7pm. .
