(Lemire) 83 of Cumberland, passed away on January 1st after battling COPD. An incredible wife, mother, and grandmother, she leaves her husband of 65 years Maurice "Moe", 5 children: Elaine Robertson and her husband Charles of Milford, CT, Richard Lamontagne and wife Alicia of Port St. Lucie, FL, David Lamontagne and wife Gladys of Lincoln, Michael Lamontagne and wife Elaine of Johnston, and Steven Lamontagne and wife Kathryn of Lake Forest, IL. 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Pauline Bertoncini of Pawtucket.
Irene's zest for life was contagious for those around her, and her marriage to Moe has been a testament of what "amazing" looks like. She loved her home and her family and made it a point to celebrate both on Christmas day with a smile, hugs, and wine. Born to the late Henry and Aurore Lemire, she spent the first 50 years of her life in Central Falls, nurturing her children and working at Health Tex as the well-known, and well-dressed receptionist.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 5th from 5 to 8pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 am on January 6th at the Keefe Funeral Home with burial at the Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, R.I. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to copdfoundation.org
