78, of Providence, R.I. went home to Glory to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, February 6, 2017.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Sunday, February 12, 2017 and 9:30-10:30 AM, Monday, February 13, 2017 at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 13, 2017 at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865 with Pastor Fredrick A. Bryden of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Arrangements are by Keefe Funeral Home.
Richard was born in Kenbridge, Virginia to Harry Williams and Isabel (Hawkins) Williams on November 3, 1938. Richard went to school in Kenbridge/Blackstone, Virginia. He was married to Carole Ann Johnson of Providence, Rhode Island. Richard was a United States Navy Veteran and served in the Rhode Island National Guard. He attended Johnson and Wales University and Massachusetts School of Barbering. He worked at Brown University, Uniroyal Tire, and General Dynamics (Electric Boat). He owned and operated Williams Hair Styling Salon and was a partner with the late Ralph Jones in W & J General Contracting, LTD. He was a realtor for America Dream Realty. Richard received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1970, and was involved in many church, community and civil activities. Richard was a Deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church where he was a faithful member for over 40 years.
Richard is preceded in death by his Father, Harry, Mother, Isabel, Brothers, Raphael (Ray) O'Harry Williams and John Cecil Williams, and his sister Frances J. (Williams) Green.

Richard is survived by wife Carole - sons, Bryan D. Johnson (Denise), Antone B. Johnson, Richard B. Williams, Jr. (Dawn), John C. Williams (Nicole), Gerald R. Williams (Lisa), Raymond M. Williams (Tricia), Steven A. Williams (Courtney), Juan Howie (Denise) - brother Robert A. Williams - sister Virginia A. Valentine - 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren - many brothers and sisters in-laws: numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons - Bryan Johnson, Robert Fayerweather, John Williams II, Darren Williams, Jason Williams, Darius Williams, Harrison Williams and Conrad Williams.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks, and appreciation to Pastor Rick Bryden (Mia), and Pastor John Volante (Pat), Deacon Charlie Ross (Betty), and our many beloved relatives, and friends including Richard's loving church family all of whom have cared for and showed love for Richard and his family during this very trying time.
A special Thanks to the Nurses and CNAs of Elderwood at Riverside, RI who took care of him and cared about him so much.
