51, left this earth Friday, March 3, 2017 after a brief and unexpected illness. He will be joining his father, Jose Rodrigues Fuinhas as he begins his new journey, watching and guarding his family from Heaven.
He was born to Jose Rodrigues Fuinhas and Jesus Gomes in the year 1965. He had a humble beginning. He grew up in Cortico da Serra in Portugal. He is survived by his two loving sisters,Emily Caseiro of Pawtucket,RI and Sara Caetano of Lyon, France.
At the young age of 16,he and his older, protective and caring sister,Emily Caseiro, came to the United States in search of new adventures. He graduated from Tolman High School and attended the Community College of Rhode Island.
He is survived by the love of his life, Arminda 'Mindy' Rodrigues, whom he loved fiercely and loyally for 28 years. From their love, they bore two incredible children, Nicholas and Briana Rodrigues.
His children were the most important part of his life. They brought him endless joy and he had never been prouder of anyone. Nicholas, a fifth year Pharmacy student at MCPHS University credits his academic success to his father's unwavering support. He has and will continue to be,his number one fan. He routinely called Nicky his 'reincarnation' and spoke of his accomplishments with pride. They were best friends.
Briana, a 2nd year nursing student at Rhode Island College was his princess. He loved her more than he loved himself. Al would always say that he would go to the end of the world for her. Briana always says that the best part of her day was coming home and telling her dad her grades. Al would tell everyone who would listen about his daughter consistent and amazing grades. He was ecstatic at how smart and sweet his daughter always was. He taught her to be kind and a hard worker.
Although he was only with us for 51 years, his impact was massive. His co-workers at the Rhode Island Department of Transportation refer to him as the life of the party. He could always be found making jokes and lightening the mood .
Al was a hardworking, loyal, and compassionate man. He touched each and every person he met with his big smile and boisterous personality. Al would want everyone to celebrate his life over a good Benfica game and a beer. He loved his family and friends profoundly and while we are devastated, we know that God has an amazing journey planned for him.
