82, passed on March 19th with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Trombley) Matteson.
Residing most of his life in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Lewis and Ethel (Smith) Matteson.
He had been employed as a tool and dye maker for various companies throughout the RI area. He served in the US Airforce during the Korean conflict. Elmore was a member of the Howard Rogers Post 25, Pawtucket. He loved New England Sports and was an avid reader.
He is survived by a son, James Matteson and his girlfriend, Carole Remington of Smithfield, a daughter, Mary Matteson of Pawtucket, a brother, Robert Matteson of CT, a sister, Pearl Tourtellott of FL, a grandson, Marc Matteson and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Burns.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 24th at 9am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8pm.
