85, passed on May 29, 2017 at Waterview Villa, East Providence.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Analia (Baptista) and Joao Jose Rodrigues.
She is survived by her children, Candy Messier and her husband Michael and Orisa Gamboa and her husband Henrique, all of Cumberland, RI, Joao Jose Rodrigues "Djone" and his wife Olivia, Manuel Gomes "Beto" and Benvinda Monteiro, all of Pawtucket, RI.
Jovina is also survived by her siblings, Antonio Baptista, Vasco Rodrigues, Alberto Rodrigues, Antonio Rodrigues, Henrique Rodrigues, Eugenia Gomes, Laura Rodrigues, Benvinda Costa, Eugenia Rodrigues, Julia Feliciano, Elizabeth Teixeira and Victoria da Rocha, 22 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Baptista, Jose Baptista, Amadeu Rodrigues, Clarisse Baptista and Elizabeth Baptista.
Her funeral will be held Friday, June 2nd at 8:45am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8pm.
