82, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Wanda (Carvalho) Alves for 53 years. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Stenio and Maria (Rosa) Alves.
Stelvio attended the University of Coimbra and served two years in the Portuguese military before moving to the U.S., where he worked as a foreman for Hasbro Industries for over 30 years.
Besides his loving wife he is survived by a son, Manuel Alves and his wife Adriana; a granddaughter, Brianna Alves; a sister, Hermina Garcia and her husband Jose; a godchild, Stenio Garcia; and two cousins, Al Alves and Maria- Dulce Furman.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 12th at 10:30am at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will begin at 8:30am on Monday morning.
