88, (Gomez) of East Providence, quietly passed away July 26, 2017
Loretta was born on August 4, 1928 in Providence RI to Manuel (Pappy) Gomez and Grace Snell. She raised three daughters on her own and taught them to become independent women.
Loretta was a loving and caring mother and friend which led her to become a nurse. She was an LPN with a career focused on working with the elderly, she treated her patients as if they were her own. She retired in her 70's.
Loretta is the wife of Edward F Souza, and former wife of the late Richard O'Neal and Edwin Santos.
Loretta, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother was always present in the lives of each and every one of "her children". She was a part of every milestone of their lives, proud of every personal success.
Her daughters are Naima Ansari, Susan L. Santos and (late) Cheryl Ann Barboza
She has 7 Grandchildren: Shakira (Kitten) Silva, Ray (Ray Ray) Silva Jr., Raquel Santos, Stephan (Butch) Gracia, Lani Macari, Theodore "TG" Gracia, Jr. and Shannon Pace
19 Great Grandchildren:
Naima's: Mikayl, Jibreel, Kamal, Amani, Abdullah, Asiyah, Rhaea, Johanna, Bella
Susan's: Taylor, Sydne, Pierce

Sister-in-law to Mary Bernard, Margaret Derrick, (late) Laverne Patterson , Michael Souza, (late) Augie Souza. Mary's daughter Lisa Francis has adopted Loretta's beloved dog Amy. Loretta has nieces and nephews in Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and RI

Calling hours Sunday, July 30th from 4-7 pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln RI; Funeral Monday July 31st at 10:00 am at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
