89 years old, transitioned to her Heavenly Home on October 2, 2017. She was born in Bailey, NC on August 28, 1928. She was the daughter of Armstead and Pearl Lee (Fowler) Jeffries.

"MOTHER" as she was so affectionately known, received her education in the North Carolina School System. In 1964, she moved from North Carolina to Bridgeport, CT. And in 1968 she moved to Providence, RI.

As a young girl, she accepted and committed her life to Christ and was Baptized.

During her lifetime, she was employed as a Nursing Assistant and Jewelry Technician. She retired from Cibi Chemical Plant in Warwick, RI.

For many years she served under the Leadership of Elder Daniel Hough and Bishop Benjamin Dickerson. At the time of her Homegoing, she was a dedicated and committed member and the Church Mother of Faith and Deliverance Tabernacle of God under the Leadership of Sr. Pastor Patricia B. Smith.

"MOTHER" loved cooking. She was a great cook and a wonderful host. Everybody loved eating her food and she made you feel right at home whenever you came to visit. Everybody loved eating her delicious desserts. Especially her coconut cakes, sweet potato and coconut custard pies. Mother's house was the meeting place for family gatherings, holiday dinners and for family and friends to stop by to get a home made biscuit with a piece of sausage from North Carolina or a piece of salt pork with a cup of coffee for breakfast. At Thanksgiving she cooked food and passed it out to the people who were homeless.

She was a woman of great Wisdom, Faith and Encouragement. She loved everybody and she was loved by all.

"MOTHER" is survived by five children: Betty Traylor of Norwich, CT; Dalphine Cooper and Dorothy Williams of Providence, RI; Lillie Yates of New London, CT and Carol Wise of East Providence, RI. Three siblings: Pastor Claude Jeffries (Dorothy); De-Loris Alexander and Hubert Jeffries. Twenty-nine grand children, seventy-eight great grand children, forty-five great great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by two children: Joyce Jean Correia and Virginia Pearl Wise; five siblings: Mittie Smith, Anna Mae Wise, Herman, Therman and Jimmey Jeffries. And a very close sister-in-law and friend, Betty Jeffries.

She will be missed by all.

A Going-Home service will be held Tuesday, October 10th from 10am until noon in the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, 25 Mystic St, Providence. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence. All are welcome, viewing will start Tuesday morning at 9am.
