age 51, died Monday morning at his home in North Providence, RI.

Mr. Melo is survived by his son Jaime A. Melo, his daughter Veronica Trimmer, his mother Maria DeMedeiros Ventura, her husband Joao Ventura and 3 brothers, Carlos, Joe and Ozzie.

Jaime is a veteran of the Iraq war where he ranked as a Sergeant First Class. His military awards and decorations include the meritorious service medal, the Army commendation medal, the Army achievement medal, and the good conduct medal. He was a veteran of operation Iraq freedom where he served in combat in 2004 and 2005.

He retired from military service in 2013 as a member of the Rhode Island National Guard.

He grew up in Pawtucket, RI, as one of four sons of Jaime R. Melo and Maria DeMedeiros.

He enjoyed fishing and being by the ocean as well as his passion for sports, especially his beloved New England Patriots. Jaime also savored the time he was able spend with his many friends and family.


His funeral will be held Friday, October 13th at 8:15am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, 32 Lawn Ave, Pawtucket at 9:45am. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5pm until 8pm.
