passed on Tuesday, November 7th at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Elderkin was 71 years old. He was the son of Ernest "Chief" Elderkin and the late Zealide McCloud Jay. Ernest was also the father of the late Jay Elderkin Robinson.
Mr. Elderkin is survived by his former wife/caregiver Linda Costa Elderkin. His children, Ernest A. Elderkin III of Providence, Lisa Elderkin Williams of Cranston, RI, Rodney J. Elderkin of Cranston, Lettie Robinson of Providence, and Shandia Cruz of Florida. He is also survived by a sister, Miss Ethel Brewster of Providence. He was the brother of the late Florence Nunes and Gertrude Silva.
Before retiring Mr. Elderkin worked as a Maintenence Supervisor at Mohegan Sun. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and many many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 11th from 1pm until 3pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
