100, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 9, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late John Thornhill for 54 years. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Annie (Hinchcliffe) McClelland.

Mary was an 80 year member of the Smithfield Avenue Congregational UCC. She was also a member of the Girls Service Club, Mr. and Mrs. Club, Willing Workers and Thrift Shop. Mary had been employed for many years at Coats Field Shoppers World.

Mary is survived by her 2 sons, John (Jack) Thornhill and his wife Donna Faidell of Cumberland, William Thornhill of Urbana, IL.; and daughter, Barbara Thornhill of Pawtucket; 3 grandchildren, Donna Santos of San Antonio, TX, Major Robert Thornhill of New Braunfels, TX and his wife Teri, and Madison Thornhill of Cumberland; 4 great grandchildren, Deborah, Aaron, John and Shea. She was a special Grandma to Alexandria, Cortney, Paul, Sofia and Julia. Mary was predeceased by her siblings, Andrew, Thomas and his twin Joseph, Frank (Mickey) and his twin Martha, Clifford and his twin Gladys Stewart and Mary's twin Chester.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 16th at 8:30am from Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a funeral service at 10am in Smithfield Avenue Congregational UCC, 514 Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5 - 8pm. Relatives and friends are invited. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Smithfield Avenue Congregational UCC, 514 Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
