was born November 24, 1957 in Santo Antão, Paul. He was the second oldest of ten children born to Maria Isabel Delgado Dias and the late Bernardino Sena Dias De Oliveria. He went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2017.

Joao spent his childhood in Cabo Verde with his parents and siblings. He loved to make people laugh, even if it was at his own expense. He was a class clown, charming and friendly, and always fearlessly defended his friends and family. Joao moved to Holland in 1977, where he got a job importing and exporting. He moved to the United States in 1985, got married and started a family. He was a dedicated and faithful employee of J.F. Renyolds before starting his own construction company, Property Maintenance Coordinated Services, LLC in the early 2000s.

Joao, fondly known as "Papa" by his children and family, was a hardworking man. He made it his duty to ensure sure that his family and friends were always taken care of. He spent the last 20 years of his life building his business; summers in the hot sun and winters plowing late into the night. The last couple of years, he had been dealing with some health issues, and during that time, his resilience proved how much of a fighter he truly was.

Joao is survived by his wife, Eugenia Sena. His children, Lorraine and Jeffrey Sena, from his first marriage to Conceicao S. Dias. His siblings; Maria Gomes, Antonio Delgado Dias, Isabel Delgado De Sena Dias, Elesbone Delgado Dias, Alcindo Bernardino Delgado, Ariana Filomena Delgado Dias and Helder Bernardino Delgado, his late brother Rui Alberto Delgado Dias. He also leaves behind several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles and friends.

His funeral will be held on Monday, January 8th at 10am from Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, High St., Pawtucket. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground Providence. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4 - 7pm. Relatives and friends are invited.
