67, of North Providence, Rhode Island passed away peacefully while sleeping, Thursday, February 1, 2018, in the comfort of his home. Rick was born November 19, 1950 in Langdale, Alabama. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1966 to 1969. Rick met the love of his life, Lisha C. Smith, the summer of 1991. They were married on August 2, 1997, in Providence, RI. Rick worked for Osram Sylvania in Central Falls for over 20 years. After retiring Rick worked as a taxi driver for eight years. Rick was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan, as well as a huge New England Patriots fan. Besides his wife, Lisha C. LaClair (Smith), Rick leaves behind four children, Richard LaClair, of Winchester, NH, Brandi LaClair of Keene, NH, Gentina (Jenny) Smith, of North Providence, Bruce LaClair of Coatsville, PA and Michael Smith of North Providence. Rick is also survived by twelve grandchildren whom he loved and adored. Rick also leaves 8 brothers and sisters, Monte Dale Bryant, David Bryant, Duane Bryant, Therron Hamaker, Sean Hamaker, Lynda Ramirez, Melissa Hamaker Pollard, Mona Lisa Aguiar
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7th starting at 9am in the St. James Baptist Church, 340 South Main St, Woonsocket with a service at 10:30am. Burial will follow with Military Honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
