She was born on September 14, 1925 in Queens, New York, and was the daughter of the late Mary Agnes and John Gordon. Mary was a graduate of Our Lady of Wisdom Academy and on September 7, 1946, married Frank (Francis) W. Wey in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Richmond Hill, New York, where she had been an active communicant. They lived in Queens until 1973 when they moved to Norwalk, Connecticut, where she was a communicant of Assumption Church, a member of the Norwalk Hospital Women's Board, a long time volunteer at Treasure House, and a member of Shore & Country Club. In February 2009 they moved to the Villa at St. Antoine's in North Smithfield, RI. Always a very social person, she loved to dance.
Survivors besides her husband of 63 years include five children, Kathleen (Craig) Reukauf of Lake Luzerne, NY and New Smyrna Beach, FL, Francis (Ruth) Wey of Altamont, NY, William (Nancy) Wey of High Bridge, NJ, Mary Alice Conlon of Lincoln, RI, and John (Patty) Wey of Bethany, CT, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 31, at 11:00 am, at St. Jude Church, Front St, Lincoln, RI. Friends and family may call at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln beginning at 9:00 am.
