65, of Perry St, passed away September 2, 2010 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Crisalida Quintanilha for 39 years.
Born in Faial, Azores, the son of the late Joao and Irene Quintanilha.
Joao had been employed by Hasbro, Inc of Pawtucket for 27 years and then for our Lady of Fatima Hospital for 10 years. He was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by a sister, Bernadette Quintanilha, two brothers, Joe and Francisco Quintanilha, an aunt, Bernadette Silva, two nieces, Monica and Meghan Raposa, a brother in law, Vitorino Santos, a sister in law, Natalia Santos and many other family members in Canada.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will be in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Friday from 5-8pm. Joao's family would like to express their sincere thanks to Catherine Koussa and RI Home and Hospice Care of RI for their care and attention and would appreciate in lieu of flowers memorial gifts made to them at 1085 North Main St, Providence RI 02904.
