of North Providence, RI passed on December 3, 2010. Ana was born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands. She is the daughter of Maria Goncalves of Pawtucket, RI and Antonio Gomes, Sr. (deceased). She migrated to Pawtucket, RI in 1973. Ana is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jose Rocha and her children Joseph Rocha of Providence, Michael Rocha of Providence, Kevin Rocha of Pawtucket and Lindsey Rocha of North Providence. She was also the foster mother of Gina Torres. She leaves 5 grandchildren, Joseph Terrel, Ana-Lee, Candida, Michael Antonio and Lily.
She is the sister of Manuel Gomes of Pawtucket, Boaventura Gomes of Pawtucket, Domingas Fortes of Pawtucket, Fernando Gomes of Pawtucket, Clarinda Gomes of Pawtucket, Abilio Macedo of New Bedford, MA, Pedro Gomes of Pawtucket, Antonio G. Gomes, Jr of Pawtucket, Eugenia Acevedo of Pawtucket, Laura DaGraca of Pawtucket, Tony Fortes of Providence, Joseph Fortes of Florida, John Gomes of Providence, Adelino Gomes of Pawtucket, Tony Gomes of Florida. and Charlene Fortes of East Providence. She joins 4 deceased sisters Maria Correia, Quiteria Gomes, Clarissa Gomes and Ortencia Gomes.
Ana was a women who loved and enjoyed life and all it had to offer. The most important thing to her was family. She is remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother and friend. Everywhere she went she brought joy. Her hobbies including cooking, jewelry making and camping. Most of all she loved helping others. Whenever anyone needed anything she was always there willing and ready to do whatever she could to make you smile.
She was an Angel on Earth and now she is an Angel in Heaven.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:00am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St, Central Falls at 9:30am. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00PM
Repass will be held at Phillips St. Hall, 54 N. Phillips St., East Providence, R.I. following the burial.
