Born in Pawtucket- August 30, 1928
Passed away at the Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island Inpatient Center after a long illness on February 21, 2011
He was the son of the late Maria Salerno and Giuseppe Perrotta.
He spent over 50 years of his life working in the Horse Racing Industry throughout the New England Area.
Working many years at the Lincoln Downs Race Track and Narragansett Race track here in Rhode Island, As well as the Suffolk Downs Race Track in Massachusetts and Rockingham Park in New Hampshire.
He was a Clocker as well as a Trainer and Owner.
He also spent some time training in Maryland until retiring from the business in 2005.
He also worked for the Town of Lincoln at the Lincoln Town Hall During the Mid 1980's.
He and his wife Shirley made their home in Lincoln and raised their 3 children there.
Together they enjoyed buying and selling antiques.
He enjoyed refinishing antiques, small construction projects, working on his house and in the yard.
Together, they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past September.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his 3 Children- Michael J. Perrotta of Peabody, Mass, Joseph J. Perrotta of Smithfield, RI, Tina E Sweeney and Son in Law Gene Sweeney of North Providence, And a sister, Marie Sterlacci of Pawtucket.
He was an Air Force Veteran
A Celebration of life with Family and friends will take place at Keefe Funeral Home, Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI -Saturday February 26th at 2pm.
Anyone who would like to pay their respects are welcome.
