"Phantom" 67, of Cumberland died February 21, 2011 at Pine Grove Health Center in Pascoag, RI.

George was born November 10, 1943 in Boston, MA and grew up in San Antonio, Texas and Pawtucket, RI. He was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Salvas) Steele. He is predeceased by a baby sister, Helen Steele, his brother Walter Steele Jr., and sisters Mary Robitaille and Rose Robitaille all of Pawtucket, RI.

George leaves behind his wife, of 34 years, Joan (Fontaine) Steele, daughter Dawn (Steele) LaPre, and his two beautiful granddaughters, Kayleigh and Riley LaPre of Cumberland, who meant the world to him. He is also survived by his brothers Thomas Steele and Johnny Steele of Pawtucket, RI, David Kemp of Orlando, Florida, Alex Steele of San Antonio, Texas, his sister Patricia Bibles of Forney, Texas, his stepmother Mitchi Steele of San Antonio, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

George loved to spend time with his family and friends, spend time in Disney World, take pictures and videos and sing and perform to Elvis music. He will be missed by many.
