77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Sadie H. (A'Vant) Montiero and Augustus Montiero. She is survived by one brother Clifford Montiero, two close cousins Doris Tatum and Evelyn Thompson. She was the sister of the late Juanito A'Vant, Betty Oliveira and Sandra Montiero Williams. She was a loving and caring Aunt to many nieces and nephews and survived by many relatives.

Florence Silva attended the Providence Public Schools and worked for decades as a supervisor at Coro Jewelers and retired from Federal Products. Prior to her illness she was very active in Pond Street Baptist Church and served as an usher. She was a member of the St. Martin de Porres Center in Providence and enjoyed bowling, crafts and dancing.

The Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 1, 4PM to 7PM in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI. Her funeral will be held Saturday 8:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church, 144 Smith Street, Providence at 10:00AM. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence.
