71, of Camp St, passed April 1st at home with her loving family by her side.
She was the daughter of Mary Sylvia and the late James Lopes.
She had been employed by the Engineering Dept. of Brown University for many years and then retired as the Head Teller at Fleet Bank, Betty than was the proprietor of Betty's Wholesale Jewelry. She was a Co-Founder of RDB Associate, Business Networking and enjoyed glass collecting, gardening and cooking.
Besides her mother she is survived by 2 daughters, Maria and Cheryl Carvalho, 3 sons, Joseph Carvalho, John Carvalho and his wife Mishele and Everett Carvalho and his wife, Krystal, 9 grandchildren, Kevin, Jamal, Divina, Noah, Jalil, Londell, Alexandra, Shayne and Everett, 8 siblings, Jean, David, John, Vincent, James, and Patrick Lopes, Judith Haig, Mary Harrison, and Nina Sylvia, Joyce Barrett and her former husband, Everett Carvalho. She was the sister of the late Michael Lopes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11am in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Camp St, Providence. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
