"Manininha" 93, widow of Gualdino "Tino" B. Baptista, died May 29, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital In North Providence after a short illness. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, daughter of the late Manuel De Pina and Belmira Gomes De Pina, she resided in Pawtucket
for 44 years. She was employed at New England Paper Tube Company for 15 year and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Survivors include sons Boaventura P. Baptista and wife Maria of Pawtucket, Julio P. Baptista and wife Rosalina of Lincoln, Frank P. Baptista and
wife Deolinda of Fall River, Mass., Domingos P. Baptista of Pawtucket, Ernest P. Baptista and wife Fatima of Pawtucket. Daughters Eugenia Mendez
of Pawtucket, Laurinda B. Fortes and husband Gabriel of Pawtucket, Rosa Gomes and husband John of Maximo, Ohio, Rosa P. Baptista and husband
Benjamin of Cumberland. Mother of the late Manuel P. Baptista and John P. Baptista of Pawtucket and Jose P. Baptista of Brava, Cape Verde.
28 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Sisters Adelina Vicente and husband Napoleao of Lincoln,
Maria Tavares of Massilon, Ohio, sister-n-law Elizabeth De Pina of Pawtucket, sister of the late Frank De Pina of Pawtucket and several nephews and nieces.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln with a funeral Mass at 10am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church,
Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Pawtucket. Calling hours are on Friday from 5pm-9pm. Family and friends are invited.
