63, of Evergreen apartments passed away Thursday at home. He was the son of the late Lois Gomes and Jack Gomes of East Providence. Lloyd was the father of Tyrone Kilgore of Providence, Annette Waite Fells of Charlotte, North Carolina, the late Lachelle Waite of Phoenix, Arizona, Norma Dowdell of East Providence, Jo-Anne Waite of Glendale, Arizona, and Ebony Palmer of East Providence.
Lloyd had 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides his children he leaves his sister Dawn Venter-Olagbegi of East Providence and was the brother of late Jose (Jay-Jay) Gomes of East Providence.
He was a long shoremen of Local 1329 for 12 years. He attended Hope High School, Nathan Bishop Junior High, and also attended a vocational barbering school.
Lloyd leaves a host of nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and godchildren.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday June 4, 2011 at noon in the NLC United Church, Benedict St, Providence.
