("Poppy" "Big Daddy" "Bayshane") passed on August 3rd, 2011. He was born on February 16, 1937 in Shadydale Georgia to the late Isiah Brooks and Rebecca Ross-Brooks. He married his childhood sweetheart, the late Mary Cooper Brooks. He relocated to Rhode Island in 1957. Harvey worked for Atlas/Mayflower trucking company for many years. He leaves a devoted daughter, Benita Cooper and three sons, Frederick Cooper and Darrell Cooper of Providence. Rhode Island, and Bobby Hall of Georgia, a daughter in law Crystal Cooper. He was the late father of L'Tanya Cooper and Ramonda Cooper. His beloved companion for many years Mrs. Ella Mae Dee preceded him in death on February 5, 2007. He leaves to rejoice in their memories his devoted step children. Mrs. Linda Roberts-Wright and Tracy Dee of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Annette Dee, Melvin Dee, Ann Dee, SSG James Dee Sr., Michael Dee of Providence, a daughter in law, Kaisha Dee of Providence, Rhode Island and a son in law, Joe Wright of North Carolina. Along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves 4 sisters, Doris Artis, Mildred Albany, Annie Benton of Georgia and Bessie Mae Brooks of Providence Rhode Island, a Brother, Willie Brooks. Four brothers preceded him in death, Grady Mitchell, Isiah (June), George, James Lee Brooks. 3 Sisters, Katherine (Big Mama) Brooks, Mamme Kerene, and Mattie Joe Brooks.
A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday at 10am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, off Smithfield Ave, Lincoln. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8pm.
