"Betty" 95, passed November 4th at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Annie M. (O'Connor) Ferry.
Elizabeth had been employed by the former Blackstone Valley Electric Company for 44 years before retiring in 1979. She was a prominent member of St Raymond Church overseeing many activities, maintaining altar linens and arrangements, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Leisure Group. She was also a member of Blackstone Valley Electric Retirees, and the Familiar Visitors. Betty treasured family get togethers and her extensive travels.
She is survived by a sister, Leonora McDevitt of West Palm Beach, Florida, 23 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward J, Thomas G, and A. Raymond Ferry, Mary A. Lonergan and Helen Carr.
Betty will be long remembered for her generosity to many charities and to her family.
Her funeral will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln Tuesday at 9am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Raymond Church, North Main St. Providence at 10am. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Monday from 3 to 7pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at St. Raymond Church, 1240 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904 or to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904.
