of the Narragansett Indian Tribe joined the Great Spirit on August 15, 2009. Lawrence was the husband of the late Grace L. Prout Monroe. Lawrence is survived by nine children; Allen and Gail Prout, Carmen Soares, Darlene, Cheryl, Duane, Antone, Domingo, Anthony J., and the late Anthony K. (M’sque Ninu) Monroe. Lawrence also leaves behind twenty-nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Alice and Frank Monroe. He was also brother to the late Norma Frye and Raymond Monroe.

On Monday, August 17th from 6-9p.m, viewing hours are at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865. After cremation, a graveside ceremony will be held at The Oakdell Cemetery, Wakefield, RI on Wednesday at 11am; where he will join his wife.
