Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of Helen (Gill) Gauthier and Raymond J.
Gauthier Sr.
He had been employed for many years by Harris Industries and previously worked laying the Alaskan Pipeline from its beginning to end.
Ray served aboard the USS Nimitz from 1974 to 1980; he then served as a
Seebee from 1986 to 1980.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Robert Gauthier of Pawtucket and Michael Gauthier of California.
His funeral will be held Monday at 11am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial with Military Honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
