81, passed away on August 6th. He was the loving husband of Claire (Guindon) Lague. They have been married for 62 years.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Arthur and Eliane (Brousseau) Lague.
Raymond graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1949. He played professional baseball with the Boston Braves and Pittsburg Pirates AA Farm System.
He then worked at Berard Oil Company, for 35 years as the service manager, retiring in 1992. He was the former past president of the RI Chapter of the National Association of Oil Heat Service Managers. He was also past president of the Ocean State Catalina Association. Raymond was a lifelong active Communicant and volunteer of Holy Spirit Parish (the former St. Mathieu's) and enjoyed gardening, sailing and golf. The most important thing in life to Ray was his wife and family.
Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Annette Loiselle and her husband Robert of Lincoln, Denise Renaud and her husband Kenneth of Johnston, Laurie Madan and her husband William of Laconia, NH, two sons, Gerard Lague of Tampa, FL, and Michael Lague of Leominster, MA. He was the cherished uncle of Elaine Cabral and her husband Ernest of Central Falls. He was the devoted Pepere of thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Elaine Minke and brother of the late Gerard Lague and Jeanne Wildenhain.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, 1030 Dexter St, Central Falls at 10am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Sr. Bea's Ministry, 1030 Dexter St, Central Falls, RI 02863 or to Camp Ker-Anna, 500 Reservoir Road, Cumberland, RI 02864.
