93, passed peacefully December 29th at the Mount St. Rita Health Center. She was the wife of the late Rene Dupont Sr. Born in Pawtucket, Rita was the daughter of the late Amateur and Rosianne (Raymond) Plouffe. She had been employed as a textile worker in the Blackstone Valley area for many years. Rita lived most of her life in Central Falls before moving to Lincoln ten years ago and was a Communicant of St. Jude Church. She had a passion for family, friends and bingo.

She is survived by Gerald "Jay" Dupont and his wife Cheryl of Lincoln, five grandchildren, Shelley, Jennifer, Lindsay Dupont, Timothy and Michael Tuhkala and two great grandchildren. A daughter in law, Frances Dupont and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Rene Dupont and sister of the late Cecile Longpre, Malvina Pincince, Aurore Lapierre, Victoria Plouffe, Henry Plouffe and Amateur Plouffe Jr.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude Church, Front St, Lincoln at 10am. Burial will be in St. Theresa's Cemetery, Burrillville. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the activities department at Mount Saint Rita's located at 15 Sumner Brown Rd. Cumberland, RI 02864.
