Our Beloved, Henry Alexander Andrade “Djiky”, 18 Years Old passed away peacefully on January 7, 2013 surrounded by his Loving Family, Nurses, Friends and Doctors.
Born in Pawtucket, RI and residing in North Providence, RI for the last 8 Years, Henry was an avid athlete and an inspiring member of our community with his unwavering positive spirit, incomparable kind heart and vibrant genuine smile. Despite courageously battling bone and lung cancer for his entire High School years, Henry graduated from North Providence High School in June of 2012 where he achieved High Honors, was a student athlete in many different sports and helped his school win Championships. He was a member of University of Rhode Island Class of 2016, where he was enrolled in 6 courses studying kinesiology and a member of 3 different clubs. He truly loved college campus life. He was also an active volunteer, teaching young children how to play soccer with Providence Recreation Department since 2006. Henry was the Founder of TEAM HENRY for Kids with Cancer and their Families.
He is survived by his loving parents, Carolina DaLomba, Jose Andrade and Orlando Monteiro. His brothers Alvin, and Anthony Andrade, sisters Lourdes-Maria Monteiro, and Alexandra Andrade. His loving Dog “Simba”. He also leaves behind his Grandparents, Ana and Henrique DaLomba, and Lucia DePina; his Godparents Eugenia Andrade & Carlos Alves; over 40 Aunts and Uncles; over 80 amazing Cousins and countless loving friends, classmates, teachers, coaches, nurses, doctors and social workers of which all helped him rock his world. While Henry’s passing left a painful wound in the hearts of so many, wise beyond his years he assured us all he is now our angel up above and his vibrancy will be with us always.
A Public Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 12th at 8:15am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue Providence, RI at 10am. Burial will be at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket RI. Calling hours will be held Friday January 11th from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the TEAM HENRY Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 114132, North Providence, RI 02911. Henry touched so many lives and he will live in our hearts forever.
