90, passed peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2013 at her daughters' home in Lincoln surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Costas R. Papagolos and longtime companion of Robert Axon.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Palmira (d'Oliveira) Bento.
She had been employed by the former Elsie Mae Nursing Home and was also a longtime senior companion volunteer.
Alice is survived by three sons, James W. Papagolos and his wife Cheryl of Largo, Florida, Rigas C. Papagolos and his wife Maureen of Pawtucket and Manuel C. Papagolos and his wife Wendy of Warwick, a daughter, Catherine C. Salerno and her husband Robert of Lincoln, a sister, Celeste B. Poole of Pawtucket, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Palmira "Tardie" Plante and John Papagolos and sister of the late Bella Neves, Aida Kanioski and Francis Bento,
Her funeral will be held Friday at 10 am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Requiem Eucharist in Christ Episcopal Church, 1643 Lonsdale Ave, Lincoln at 11am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in her memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904
